Shana Hôtel & Résidence, a tailor-made stay between lakes and mountains!

Our independent, human-scale hotel opened its doors in May 2022, built on the site of the former Chanaz Marine shipyard, established in 1996 by Jacques-Olivier REY-CHANEAC, one of the four owners of SHANA Hôtel & Résidence. Situated on the banks of the Rhône and the Canal de Savières, on the Viarhona and the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, a stone's throw from Lac du Bourget, and close to the Bugey vineyards, the Grand Colombier and Hautecombe Abbey, our location has it all. Between the Rhône, the lake, nature and culture, we take full advantage of our location to act as ambassadors for the Aix-les-Bains Riviera des Alpes region. This is what motivated us to create a place truly dedicated to all types of travelers. We have cyclists, hikers, tour groups, bikers, families and enthusiasts of all kinds... A public as varied as it has been loyal since we opened. Designed in a modern architectural style, inspired by the former destination of the place, around the theme of the boat, our establishment is a place that can be used in many ways... A comfortable and convivial bar and dining room that encourages sharing, an outdoor swimming pool heated by heat pump during the summer months, and the village of Chanaz just a stone's throw away, enhance our 25 rooms and 10 apartments; all of which enable us to offer turnkey packages to all our customers.

Here, everything is possible and in place to make your stay a success. Our team will work with you to design your tailor-made stay and bring it to fruition. We're a small hotel, and we like to keep things on a human scale. We like to take time for the people who stop by to make them feel at home. We can offer group activities with people we know and local businesses. Cruises on the Rhône or Lac du Bourget, discovering Aix les Bains and its casino, tasting wine and local produce in the surrounding vineyards, visiting the famous Hautecombe Abbey - the region is full of possibilities and hidden treasures. The hotel can also cater for groups on a full-board basis, with meals to suit all tastes. Quite a program...

From the outset of the project, the guiding principle was to recycle as many building materials as possible during demolition, and to preserve and enhance natural resources. The hotel has invested in an environmentally-friendly geothermal heating and cooling system, and continues to make the most of local resources and players on a daily basis...
